Hey everyone,
A few days ago we tested a new system for our Staff, to better improve our Discord server. After further research and consideration, we are today rolling the new changes out fully. Continue reading below to learn why we're making these changes, and the significance of them.
Equality, it's key. From the very beginning of the servers creation, equality has been one of the most important parts of the server. We want the server to be a safe place for all users, and that starts with our staff system. Instead of having our old role hierarchy, all staff are effectively the same role, yet are given different permission sets as they gain more trust within the community. This will be determined by a multitude of factors varying from activity, effectiveness and excellence.
A cleaner server starts now. Our Leadership Team is always seeking exciting opportunities to ensure the server looks aesthetically pleasing, and we recently realised that the clutter of many staff roles created an un-friendly environment and often made the server feel messy.
So, with that out of the way, lets answer some possible questions that might arise from this change.
Does the Leadership Team still exist? Yes. The Leadership Team still oversees the server. You can view staff members who are part of the leadership team by viewing a staff members role by clicking their name on the Member List.
Does this change effect members? Yes. This change is important as all staff are now under one key role. As an example, this means that Leadership Team members are listed as Staff on the Member List, but will have a hidden role stating that they are a Leadership Team member. This also applies to every other role, such as Administrator, Head of Moderation, and all previous retired roles.
